The owner purchased this apartment, located in the attic of an old building. Due to the age of the building, however, a modernization and repartitioning of the entire space was necessary.
Initially, the entrance to the apartment was through a hallway that also functioned as transition area between the living room and a small bathroom.
However, our client requested an open kitchen with an island, dining space, 2 bathrooms, and storage space. In order to make as much of the limited space as possible, a few deliberate choices have been made.
For example, the ceiling beams have been uncovered and restored, helping to achieve the illusion of a spacious apartment. Furthermore, the dining area is separated from the entryway by a tall shelving unit, which helps distinguish the two spaces, keeping things organized and yet airy.
